Sustainability Committee

Mission Statement

To promote energy saving practices and recycling throughout the town by promoting energy conservation and efficiency resulting in energy and cost savings as technology develops, encouraging participation in all available recycling options, and educating the public regarding the proper disposal of electronic/hazardous waste, energy consumption habits, and emerging green technologies. 


Committee Responsibilities

The Sustainability Committee (formerly called the Recycling/Energy Committee) is a seven-member committee with three alternates, which includes one Selectman and the Public Works Director as ex-officio member, pursuant to Hudson Board of Selectmen vote on 8/25/15. The members serve a 3-year term. The committee is charged with getting information out regarding the recycling process; educating people on getting rid of electronic/hazardous waste; promoting energy conservation, energy efficiency, and exploring other ways to reduce carbon emissions among the town's residents, businesses, and in municipal affairs. 


Meeting Schedule

The Sustainability Committee meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 7:00 PM in the lower level, Board of Selectmen Meeting Room.
