RFP-Benson Park Office Building Sill Repair/Replacement
The Town of Hudson is requesting proposals for the repair/replacement of the sills of the Office Building located in Benson Park at 27 Kimball Hill Road in Hudson, New Hampshire. Questions may be directed to the Office of the Town Administrator at 886-6024.
General Scope of Work: Repair or replace the sills as appropriate at the Office Building located in Benson Park, 27 Kimball Hill Road Hudson, NH.
Grading: Regrade the area along the front side of the building to divert water away from the building and therefore out of the cellar. Remove concrete that was placed along the foundation as an earlier attempt to keep the water away.
Sills and Carrier Repair: Jack up the building to allow for the repair or replacement of the bad sections of sill, remove log siding and sheathing as necessary to make the sill repairs or replacement, repair sills or replace sills as needed with same sized and type of sills, hold up existing main carriers and cut back existing main carriers to keep them from being in contact with the concrete, install new custom made steel brackets to fit onto the ends of the main carriers. The new brackets are to extend into the original concrete pockets, and reinstall previously removed salvaged log siding and install new matching log siding where removed to make make sill repairs/replacements.
Warranty: Bidder to provide warranty for workmanship and material that corresponds to the manufacturer chosen.
Insurance: Successful bidder must provide documentation that they carry the following minimum levels of insurance: Professional Liability - $1,000,000, Comprehensive General Liability - $1,000,000, and Workers Compensation - Statutory. Town of Hudson to be named as an “Additional Insured”.
General Notes: Bidder to provide brief description of similar projects worked on to demonstrate relevant experience and expertise in this type of work, bidder to provide sanitary facilities for the duration of the project for the crew, bidder to provide dumpster for removal of all debris. all exterior work areas shall be thoroughly cleaned upon completion of the job and remain clean while the work is in progress, bidder to state terms and conditions for payment, i.e. percentage of balance due at beginning of job, payment terms, etc., bidder to follow all existing OSHA regulations as mandated for the construction industry, all work to be completed in a substantial workman like manner according to specifications submitted per standard practices, the Town of Hudson is not responsible for any costs incurred by vendors prior to awarding of this contract, building will be open for inspection by potential bidders on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, start of work to be scheduled on or after September 1, 2017, project must be substantially completed within thirty (30) days from the start of the project, and any exceptions or deviations from above specifications to be noted in bidder’s proposal.
Bids must be submitted to the Town of Hudson, Office of the Town Clerk, 12 School Street, Hudson, NH 03051 by 10:00 a.m. on March 24, 2017 in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Benson Park Office Building Sill Repair/Replacement Proposal” on the outside of the envelope. The Town of Hudson reserves the right to waive any informalities or to accept or reject any or all bids, as deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
