Station Investments
The Hudson Fire Department operates three stations 24/7/365 throughout the town.
- Robinson Road Fire Station (Station 1) - located at 52 Robinson Road
- Leonard A. Smith Central Fire Station (Station 2) - located at 15 Library Street
- James A. Taylor Memorial Fire Station (Station 4) - located at 204 Lowell Road
Over the past six years, the community has invested over 3 million dollars in our facilities. We are grateful for their continued support, without whom these investments would not be possible.
Leonard A. Smith Central Fire Station (Station 2):
The Leonard A. Smith Central Fire Station underwent a $900,000 renovation in 2017. Originally built in 1952, both stories of this building were included in the renovation. Some highlights of the renovation were:
- Remodeled the overhead door height to accommodate modern apparatus
- Added a second means of egress to the second floor
- Added a handicap ramp to the main entrance in compliance with the ADA
- Addressed the lack of the automatic fire suppression system
- Created a secure facility
- Created a work flow that supported the following on the second floor:
- Training room
- Kitchen
- Day room
- Fitness room
- Dormitories
- Supportive office (EMS, shift commander, Temsis)
- First floor Gear Room, EMS Room and Mechanical Storage
- Updated the facility to extend the lifecycle of the facility 10-15 years
- Brought into compliance with NFPA 101 life safety code
- Station now meets fire code and international building code
James A. Taylor Memorial Fire Station (Station 4)
On On July 25, 2018, we opened a brand new, 2.6 million, 8,000 square foot station on Lowell Road. This station is named in memory of James A. Taylor who died in the line of duty on July 27, 1981.
This new station provides the following:
- Training Room
- Kitchen
- 6 Dormitories
- Fitness Room
- Office / EMS Rooms
- Study Area
- Modern High Efficiency Equipment
- Dedicated PPE Storage Areas
- Open Floor Plan

All three stations are equipped with a fitness room with the following equipment:
- Treadmill
- Flat Bench
- Dumbbells
- Plyo Boxes
- Weighted Vest
- Cable Speed Rope
- Kettle bells
- Medicine Balls
- Airdyne Exercise Bike
- Chin up bar
Teleconferencing
All three stations are equipped with teleconferencing equipment which allows personnel to attend training from any station or from home with an instructor at our Central Fire Station. This system is utilized for remote meetings as well.

WiFi is available for all members within our stations.
