How Bill becomes Law
Residents sometimes ask how they can get a piece of legislation before the NH House or Senate for consideration. The State's page answers that question with an outline of how an idea goes from paper to law.
A private citizen, interest group or other who wishes to propose legislation must find a sponsor in the legislative body to submit their suggestion for drafting.
- All drafted bills must be approved and signed by the sponsoring legislator.
- Visit http://www.nh.gov/nhinfo/bills.html for more information.
A list of NH Legislatures is available at http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/house/members/wml.aspx.
- Enter the Town of Hudson (or Hillsborough District 27) and "GO!"
