Where: Leonard A. Smith Central Fire Station - 15 Library Street – Hudson, NH

Come and learn about this year's Fire Prevention Week Campaign "Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!".

Check out our live demonstrations!

• Turkey Fryer Demonstrations
  • Learn about the hazards of using a turkey fryer.
• Side-by-Side Burn Trailer
  • This demonstration will simulate the difference between a fire that is controlled by a sprinkler system vs. a fire that is uncontrolled until it is extinguished by firefighters.
• Fire Extinguisher Demonstrations
  • Learn the correct way to use a fire extinguisher.
• Hazard House
  • Act as the Safety Inspector and transform the house from hazardous to safe through the use of many interactive, hands-on pieces.
• Hazard Kitchen
  • This simulator demonstrates stove top kitchen fires.  It will teach you how to identify and prevent fire hazards, and what to do in the event of a kitchen fire.
• Live Car Fire Demonstration

Come and explore:

• NH Fire Marshal's Office Education Table
  • Staff from the NH Fire Marshal's office will be on site with games and giveaways.
• St. Joseph Hospital Mobile Clinic Vehicle
  • Staff from St. Joseph Hospital will be onsite with their mobile vehicle clinic providing free blood pressure screenings and heart health information.
• EMS Activities
  • Stop the Bleed
  • Hands only CPR
• Touch A Truck
  • Ever wanted to sit in a fire truck?  Here is your chance to do so.  Check out all of Hudson Fire's apparatus!
• Take a guided tour of the Central Fire Station
  • Members will take you on a tour of the station.
• History of Hudson Fire
  • Come learn about the history of the department.

More fun for the kids:

• Extinguish the "fire" with the hose
  • Knock down the simulated flames in the house with a water hose.
• Open House activities challenge.
  • Complete all the tasks on the activities card to be eligible to enter for a chance to win prizes.
• HFD activity bags
  • While supplies last.
• Face painting
• Try out your archery skills with Cub Scout Pack 21.  They will be here with their S.A.F.E. Archery/Hoverball Archery Target interactive experience.

The Professional Firefighters of Hudson Local #3154 will be providing and serving hot dogs and popcorn from 11AM to 2PM.

The Hudson Firefighters Relief Association will be providing assorted beverages.

PARKING

• Hills Memorial Library Parking Lot – 18 Library Street
• SAU 81 Building Parking Lot - 20 Library Street and along School Street

** Note - Starting at 9AM until 2:30PM, School Street will be closed down to traffic from the entrance off of Chase Street to the intersection of Library Street **

There will be a police detail located at the intersection of Library Street and School Street to assist with pedestrian traffic.
