Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our legal department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. The Legal Clerk will work closely with our legal team to assist with various administrative duties and contribute to the smooth operation of our office.
Duties:
- Provide administrative support to the legal team, including answering phones, responding to emails, and greeting clients and visitors.
- Assist with legal research and document preparation, including photocopying, filing, and scanning documents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and databases, including legal records and client information.
- Perform various office tasks, such as filing case and redacting police reports.
- Assist with filing discovery video and physical evidence and case file compiling.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and colleagues, responding to inquiries and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, including Word, to create documents and spreadsheets.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a legal office or administrative role is preferred but not required, we will train.
- Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word is necessary.
- Knowledge of legal administrative tasks and procedures is desirable.
- A background in paralegal work is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree in a related field is an asset.
